A recent leak assured that the manga written and illustrated by Inio Asano , “ Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction ”, will have an anime adaptation in series format whose objective is to adapt the entire original work. According to the leak, this would be a separate project from the two films released on March 22 and May 24, 2024 in theaters in Japan, so confirmation is expected to come when the second is released.

For his part, Inio Asano began publishing the manga through the Shogakukan publisher's Weekly Big Comic Spirits magazine in April 2014 and ended it in February 2021. The work went through multiple pauses since July 2014, but it also managed to recognition in the “Best General Manga” category at the sixty-sixth edition of the Shogakukan Manga Awards , held in January 2021.

Inio Asano is also the author of renowned works such as “ Oyasumi Punpun ” (one of the highest-rated manga in the entire history of MyAnimeList), “ Solanin “, “ Umibe no Onnanoko ” and “ Subarashii Sekai “, to name a few.

Sinopsis of Dead Dead Demons Dededede Destruction

When you look at the sky, what do you see? A blue sky? Freedom? A hopeful future? Tokyo residents see none of that. Instead, an ominous alien mothership looms above them, engulfing the city landscape. Three years ago, they arrived. The arrival of the “invaders” triggered the greatest war humanity has ever faced, one that threatened to end the world. The Japanese government rushed to fight the invaders. Weapons were mass produced, sparking controversy and pacifist movements.

That day, everything changed. And yet, nothing has changed. Koyama Kadode and Nakagawa Ouran live out their final days as they always have: going to school, playing with their friends, and doing what any carefree high school girl would do. As they grow up, they learn what it really means to be an adult, in a world where adults seem to be demons who only deceive and destroy. They come to learn that the true threat to humanity is not the Invaders, but humanity itself.
