Shangri-La Frontier Synopsis
Rakurou Hizutome, a high school student,
has the peculiar hobby of playing poorly made games: games that are unbalanced
or full of bugs that make them practically unplayable. The few who share his
fandom may recognize him by his in-game name, Sunraku. For his next game,
Rakurou recommends Shangri-La Frontier, a popular and well-received virtual
reality game as a respite from the terrible games he's been playing lately.
Once the game starts, Rakurou decides to
sell most of his starting equipment to earn extra money, leaving himself with
only a pair of boxers, a bird mask, and some weapons. He is instantly hooked
and meticulously levels up his avatar. However, after facing some intimidating
monsters, he realizes that he may have underestimated the challenge that a
conventional game can offer. As Rakurou advances, he must draw on all the
skills he has honed in his previous gaming experiences. Before long, Sunraku's
eccentric playstyle takes Shangri-La Frontier by storm.
