On the official site for the anime adaptation of the
manga written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu , “ Dandadan ”,
a new promotional video for the project was revealed. The video confirms
that the premiere is scheduled for October 3 in Japan , and
lists a fragment of the musical themes, which include:
- The
band Creepy Nuts will perform the opening theme titled
“Otonoke,” while the band ZUTOMAYO will perform the
closing theme titled “TAIDADA.”
Unfortunately, several episodes of this
project were leaked as part of the massive Netflix leak ,
which will possibly affect the expected reception for this upcoming premiere
(possibly a large part of those who have already seen the leak, even if it was
in low quality, do not have intentions to see the official premiere).
Yukinobu Tatsu ,
who was one of author Tatsuki Fujimoto 's assistants , began
publishing the manga through publisher Shueisha 's Shonen
Jump Plus digital service in April 2021, where it is still in
serialization. Tatsu is also the author of other serialized works such as
“ Seigi no Rokugou ” and “ Fire Ball! “, as
well as one-shots such as “ Yamada Kiki Ippatsu ” in 2019 and
“ Renai Saibaihou ” in 2015.
Synopsis of Dandadan
After being aggressively rejected, Momo
Ayase finds herself angry when she bumps into a boy who is being bullied. Saved
by her reckless kindness, the occult-obsessed boy tries to talk to her about
supernatural interests he believes they share. Rejecting her claims, Ayase
proclaims that she is, instead, a believer in ghosts, starting an argument
between them over which one is real. In a bet to determine who is right, the
two decide to separately visit places related to the occult and the
supernatural: Ayase visits the former and the boy the latter.
When the two arrive at their respective
places, it turns out that neither of them was wrong and that both the occult
and ghosts exist. This marks the beginning of the adventure of Ayase and the
boy, who shares a name with Ayase's favorite idol, Ken Takakura, as they try to
fix the surreal supernatural and sci-fi elements around them to return to a
normal life.
