On the official site for the anime adaptation of the
light novels “ Kimi
to Boku no Saigo no Senjou, Aruiwa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen ( KimiSen:
Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World )”, it was announced that
the broadcast of the Season two has been suspended indefinitely due
to production issues.
Although the statement states that “it is to ensure
and maintain the quality of the content,” this is common discourse to avoid saying
that they are problems within the production, whether due to schedule or lack
of personnel. Furthermore, considering that the production comes from
SILVER LINK, a studio that has seen failure after failure lately, there is not
much to discuss.
Consequently, starting next August 7 (when Episode 5
of this second season was going to be broadcast), episodes of the first season
will begin to be broadcast on television in Japan. This will continue
week after week until September 25, which is when the Summer-2024 period
(July-September) ends, which means that production does not estimate to have
the episodes ready in the short term.
In fact, the statement itself confirms that the air
dates for the remaining episodes are yet to be determined, but that the plan is
to move the entire season to a new period (Winter, Spring, Summer or
Fall). More information will be announced in future communications, but
SILVER LINK has definitely been nothing more than disappointment after
disappointment, a finished study.
The first season aired during the Fall-2020
season (October-December) and had twelve episodes. Kei Sazane and Ao
Nekonabe began publishing the light novels through Fujimi
Shobo 's Fantasia Bunko publishing label in May
2017. A manga adaptation by Okama was published in Hakusensha 's Young
Animal magazine since May 2018 to March 2021.
Synopsis of KimiSen: Our Last Crusade or
the Rise of a New World
A force known as astral power spreads
throughout the world, wielded by astral magicians. Fearing their destructive
power, the “Empire” persecutes those who display their abilities. The tormented
wizards then found the Nebulis Sovereignty to flee their oppressors. Since
then, the two nations have been in bitter conflict, the war still continuing
for over a century. After committing the great crime of freeing an imprisoned
witch, the talented knight Iska is sentenced to prison.
A year later, the leaders of the Empire
suddenly decide to release him, on the condition that he hunts down a fearsome
magician known as the “Ice Calamity Witch.” Hoping to end the war, Iska agrees.
Coincidentally, the Ice Calamity Witch herself, Aliceliese “Alice” Lou Nebulis
XI, also desires peace and is willing to do whatever she can to bring down the
Empire. As Iska and Alice long for a crusade that will turn the world into one
without strife, misfortune, or pain, the threads of fate draw them closer
together, creating a bond that goes beyond something made by mere coincidence.
