The recent premiere of the anime “ Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi ( Tying
the Knot with an Amagami Sister )”, based on the manga by Naito
Marcey, has quickly caught the attention of the otaku community and has become
a trending topic on social media. Fans were quick to compare the series
to the popular anime “To LOVE-Ru”, mainly due to the similarities in the
comical situations where protagonist Uryuu Kamihate ends up in compromising
scenarios with the female protagonists , recalling the famous
accidents of Rito Yuki, the protagonist of To LOVE-Ru.
In “Amagami-san Chi no Enmusubi,” the plot revolves
around Uryuu Kamihate, a young man with a difficult life who seeks to overcome
his past by achieving his dream of entering medical school. However, upon
arriving at his new adopted home, a working shrine, his plans for a quiet place
to study are thwarted. Uryuu discovers that he will not only live with
the three beautiful and dynamic Amagami sisters, but that he will have to marry
one of them and inherit the shrine, an unexpected situation that completely
changes his life. This combination of romantic comedy and love
entanglements has generated a lot of conversation among fans, especially for
its constant “accident” scenes that recall the classic fan service of series
like To LOVE-Ru.
The series has not only garnered attention for these
situations, but also for the participation of Naito Marcey, who was
Negi Haruba’s assistant in the popular series “Gotoubun no Hanayome” (The
Quintessential Quintuplets). This background has led many fans to have high
expectations for the story and characters, comparing the development of the
protagonist and female leads to other romantic comedies in the genre.
