2025. The work, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young
Jump magazine, is a story of romance and mystery set in the nostalgic city of
Kowloon, and has captured the attention of many for its intriguing narrative.
“Kowloon Generic Romance” follows the life of Reiko
Kujirai, a real estate agent working in the chaotic and mystical city of
Kowloon. The story begins to get complicated when Reiko discovers that
Hajime Kudou, her coworker for whom she has feelings, had a fiancée identical
to her. This sets off a series of mysteries about her lost memories,
her identity, and the dark secrets the city hides.
The cast for both adaptations has already been
revealed. In the anime, Reiko will be voiced by Haruka Shiraishi, while
Tomokazu Sugita will play Hajime Kudou. Meanwhile, in the live-action
film, Riho Yoshioka will voice Reiko and Koshi Mizukami will voice Hajime.
Along with the reveal of the cast, the first visuals for the characters have
also been released, which feature a romantic image of Hajime placing a hand on
Reiko's cheek, capturing the emotional closeness between the two characters.
