This Sunday, during a special broadcast held on YouTube ,
it was revealed that the anime adaptation of the famous manga One Piece , written and
illustrated by Eiichiro Oda , will enter a six-month hiatus
for the first time in its history, starting next October 27. The series is expected to return in April
2025.

The main reason
behind this hiatus is that the production team has decided to focus on
improving the quality of the animation, with the aim of offering a visual
aspect that is on par with the most recent episodes of the franchise.
During this hiatus,
the anime will re-air the Fish-Man Island Arc (also known as
the Fish-Man Island Arc ), but this time in a remastered and
enhanced version. This new edition will feature a significant reduction in
episodes, going from the original 51 to just 28, as filler chapters will be
removed, allowing for a more dynamic experience that is faithful to the manga's
story.
Additionally, a
promotional image for the new edition of the Fishman Island Arc was revealed.
It’s mind-blowing to
think that after 25 years on the air, the One Piece anime is
taking a six-month hiatus. What’s even more surprising is that this hiatus is
due to an effort to “improve its quality,” even though we’ve recently enjoyed
episodes with exceptional direction and animation. More details about this
suspension will be revealed at Jump Festa 2025 , which will
take place in December.
