A new promotional video for the second season of the
project was revealed on the official website for the anime adaptation of
the webtoon “ Solo Leveling ”. The video
confirms that the premiere is scheduled for January 4, 2025 in Japan , and shows a
snippet of the ending theme titled “ UN-APEX ” and performed
by TK from Ling Tosite Sigure .
The statement included a special message from the
artist:
- « I
am TK, an E-rank hunter at the limit. Continuing the production of the
previous project, this time I am in charge of my own project. I think I
managed to express that contrast where passion increases along with an
ever-increasing coldness. There is something that has always bothered me:
the fact that I am the only one who cannot level up. However, from the
very bottom of the ladder, I bring you a super S-rank song .»
The first season aired during the Winter 2024
season (January-March) and had a total of twelve episodes. Chugong published
the original novels through KakaoPage between July 2016 and
March 2018, with a total of fourteen volumes. A webtoon adaptation was
published from March 2018 through KakaoPage by Jang
Sung-rak and ended in December 2021.
Solo Leveling Synopsis
Ever since a portal appeared that connects our world
to another one filled with monsters and creatures of all kinds, some people
have acquired powers and the ability to hunt them, earning the name of hunters.
The protagonist, Sung Jin-woo, is the weakest of the E-rank hunters and barely
stronger than a normal human. He is nicknamed “the weakest” by his fellow
hunters. One day, he and others find themselves trapped in an extremely
dangerous dungeon, and only a few survive and manage to escape. Sung Jin-woo himself
barely survives and is the only one to complete all the trials in this dungeon,
becoming a “player,” now able to see an interface that shows him quests, stats,
inventory, shops, and levels. Will he manage to level up to become the most
powerful hunter?
