A press
release listed that Mai Matsuda 's manga , " Journey
Home After School ( Houkago Kitaku Biyori )," is
getting an anime adaptation. The release did not reveal production
details or a scheduled premiere date.
For her
part, Mai Matsuda began publishing the manga through Futabasha 's Manga
Action magazine in August 2023. She previously published the manga
" Hikaru in the Light! " in the same magazine
between May 2023 and August 2022, compiling the work in a total of four
volumes.
Synopsis
of Journey Home After School
Shun is
a high school student who, without seeking it, receives an unexpected
invitation to join the Homecoming Club, an unconventional school group led by
Naoki Satou, an energetic and somewhat peculiar girl, better known as
Naoki-chan. Although Shun tries to reject the offer, Naoki gives him no choice
and drags him into her world full of occurrences and unexpected detours.
Despite his initial reluctance, Shun begins to get involved in the dynamics of
the club and discovers that, beyond its apparent uselessness, these moments
shared with Naoki and his eccentric classmates could give new meaning to his
life.
Meanwhile,
Naoki, who always seems to take alternative paths instead of the direct route,
finds an unexpected adventure partner in Shun. This romantic comedy unfolds,
full of hilarious situations and misunderstandings, where a girl who can't help
but stray from the path and a boy searching for a purpose in life end up
transforming each other.
