During a special event, it was announced that the first film in the " Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - Infinity Castle " trilogy is scheduled to premiere on July 18 in theaters in Japan. It should be noted that since its announcement, it has been confirmed that the film will be released in more than 150 countries and territories, but it is not yet known if it will be a simultaneous release throughout the world.

The release also included a new promotional image featuring the tagline: “ The final battle is unleashed .” It was also revealed that the video game “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2” will be released on August 1 in Japan. Lastly , this trilogy of films will adapt the “Infinite Fortress Arc,” the last in the narrative of Koyoharu Gotouge’s already iconic manga.

On the other hand, Koyoharu Gotouge published the original manga through Shueisha 's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine between February 2016 and May 2020, compiling the work into a total of twenty-three volumes. The anime adaptation produced by Ufotable studios has aired a total of four seasons since the first in Spring 2019 (April-June) , totaling 63 episodes so far, as well as three films (one canonical and two compilations).

General Synopsis of Kimetsu no Yaiba

Tanjirou Kamado lives with his impoverished family on a remote mountain. As the eldest brother, he has taken on the responsibility of providing for his family following the death of his father. On a cold winter's day, he goes down to the local village to sell charcoal. As night falls, he is forced to spend the night in the home of a curious man who warns him of strange creatures that roam the night: malevolent demons that crave human flesh.

When he finally arrives home, Tanjirou's worst nightmare has come true. His entire family has been brutally slaughtered, with the sole exception of his sister Nezuko, who has been turned into a flesh-eating demon. Driven by hatred and despair, Tanjirou desperately tries to stop Nezuko from attacking others, setting out on a journey to avenge his family and find a way to turn his beloved sister back into a human.
