Following
the airing of the final episode, a second season of an anime
adaptation of " Anyway, I'm Falling in Love with You. ( Douse,
Koishite Shimaunda. )" was announced. The statement did
not reveal a scheduled premiere date , but considering the early
announcement, it is assumed that the production team will remain unchanged.
Additionally,
a comment from author Haruka Mitsui was included : « The
second season of the anime "Anyway, I'm Falling in Love with You" has
been confirmed! With the brightness of the youth of 2020 in their
hearts, Mizuha, Kizuki, Shin, Ai and Shugo have grown up and, ten years later,
they face love and their dreams beyond simple childhood friendship. I
am excited by how the animation, lighting, music and the incredible
performances of the cast will bring a vibrant and dramatic atmosphere to this
new season. I hope all viewers will continue to accompany the story until its
conclusion ».
It's
definitely a surprise that a work for this demographic is getting a sequel , but here are the details of
the franchise so far:
- The original work has been
serialized in Kodansha 's Nakayoshi Magazine
since October 2020, with 11 compiled volumes to date and over 1.25 million
copies in circulation. The first anime season aired during the Winter 2025
period (January–March).
- The voice cast includes Kazuki
Ura as Kizuki Hazawa, Sakura Shinfuu as Mizuho
Nishino, Satoshi Inomata as Shugo Hoshikawa, Shouya
Chiba as Airu Izumi, Sion Yoshitaka as Shin
Kashiwagi, among others.
- The production team includes
names such as Junichi Yamamoto as director, Typhoon
Graphics as producer, Yuu Murai and Nagisa
Nario as supervisor and scriptwriter, Io Shiiba as
character designer, Katsuzo Hirata and Suzuna
Okuyama as deputy character designers, and Keiji Inai in
charge of the soundtrack.
- The story centers on Mizuha,
who has a disastrous 17th birthday when her parents forget the date and
her crush doesn't reciprocate. However, her childhood best friend
confesses his feelings to her, forcing her to face an unexpected change in
her life as the world goes through a global pandemic.
