When a story revolves around a protagonist expelled from a group of heroes, drama is guaranteed. But if we add to that an extraordinary white magician who doesn't realize his power, vibrant animation and a stellar cast, the result is one of the most attractive promises of the summer season. This is Yūsha Party o Tsuihō Sareta Shiro Madōshi, S-Rank Bōkensha ni Hirowareru: Kono Shiro Madōshi ga Kikakugai Sugiru , an animated adaptation of the light novels by Sora Suigetsu and DeeCHA, whose first official trailer is now available.

First look at the anime: trailer and opening theme song

Happinet has released the anime's first promotional video, revealing the fantasy and comedy tone that will permeate the series. In the trailer, we can hear a preview of the opening theme, "Junjō de Are ," performed by Gakuto Kajiwara , who also voices the protagonist Lloyd . The energetic and emotional song reinforces the character's duality: a seemingly ordinary young man, but with magical potential beyond expectations.

The video stands out for its clean and bright aesthetic, pointing to a careful production by the Felix Film studio , under the direction of Hiroshi Tamada , known for his work on classics such as Glass Fleet or The Heroic Legend of Arslan .

A new voice joins the cast

The announcement also confirms the addition of Marina Inoue to the cast, in the role of Merlin , the maternal figure who raised Lloyd. Her presence adds a notable interpretative weight to the series, which already boasts a diverse and talented cast that includes names such as Rina Hidaka (Yui), Haruka Shiraishi (Silica), Yūichirō Umehara (Daggers) and Yui Ishikawa (Rina).

From webnovel to transmedia phenomenon

The journey of Yūsha Party or Tsuihō Sareta Shiro Madōshi began in 2020 as a novel published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform , before making the leap to paper by Futabasha , which will release its eighth volume on June 30. Added to this is its adaptation into manga, illustrated by Wasabi Mukuno , whose ninth installment will arrive on May 30.

This steady growth demonstrates the appeal of a story that, without reinventing heroic fantasy, stands out for its focus on a protagonist who shines in a supporting role, far removed from the usual warrior protagonist.

Release and availability

The series is set to premiere in July 2025 on Tokyo MX , Sun TV , and BS Fuji , and will also be available on the Anime Store streaming platform . With a plot centered on redemption, camaraderie, and magic as a support tool, Yūsha Party is shaping up to be an ideal anime for both those who enjoy the growth of the "underdog" and lovers of classic adventures with a modern twist.
