WWWave Corporation revealed new character videos and additional cast for the television anime Chuhai Lips: Canned Flavor of Married Women (Hitozuma no Kuchibiru wa Kan Chūhai no Aji ga Shite), based on the manga by Chinjao Musume and Tama Nogami. In addition, it was confirmed that the anime will be available on the new OceanVeil streaming platform.

Two versions for different audiences

The series will have two versions: a "television edition" and a "Deregula Edition" that will include uncensored scenes and extended content. The latter can only be seen on AnimeFesta from July 1.

The television broadcast will begin on Tokyo MX on July 2 at 01:00 (Spanish time) and on BS11 on July 7 at 01:10 (Spanish time). In addition, the Blu-ray and DVD will be released on November 26, including all eight episodes in their full version plus an OVA episode titled "Yui Koriyama - What Comes After...".

Production team and theme song

The anime is directed by Hajime Keima at Raiose Studio, who is also overseeing the scripts. Yoriko Karei is in charge of character design and color direction, while Yutaka Aota is the art director. The photographic composition and editing is in charge of Tomohiro Hayashi, and the sound direction is in the hands of Fumihiko Odera. The opening song titled "Can't You High!?" is performed by Uzuho.

A story with a taste of chūhai

The story revolves around Tsuyoshi, a college student who loves canned chūhai, who encounters different married women in a series of unexpected encounters. The Japanese term chūhai refers to a mixture of shōchū (distilled liquor) with carbonated water, being a popular drink in Japan.

A manga that continues to expand

The manga, released in February 2021 on Kodansha's YanMaga Web platform, is still in publication. The publisher began releasing a "full-color deluxe edition" in June 2024, and the third volume was released on November 20.

Chuhai Lips is part of WWWave's Deregula catalog, the same label that is producing other adult adaptations such as Yandere Dark Elf and Does It Count If You Lose Your Virginity to an Android?.
