The first

gained notoriety outside of Japan thanks to Spin Master, which has
been streaming the anime on YouTube since September and distributing the toy
line in the United States.
A soft,
tender and fun universe
PuniRunes toys stand out for their
originality: unlike other digital pets, these have a hole where users can insert
a finger and pet the fluffy creature that lives inside. The term
"puni-puni" in Japanese refers to something soft and
fluffy.
The anime's
story follows the daily lives of PuniRunes, mysterious creatures
who love petting, and Yuka, a fourth-grade girl fascinated by soft
things.
Creative
team behind the success
The first
season had Kunihiko Yuyama (Pokémon, Minky Momo) as head
director, Kentarō Yamaguchi as director at OLM Digital studio,
and Gigaemon Ichikawa in charge of the scripts. Sayuri
Ichiishi, known for her work on Pokémon and Tamagotchi!, designed the
characters. The opening theme, "Puni Puni PuniRunes Punix
Version," was performed by Nanahira.
With new
characters and the same cuteness as always, PuniRunes Puni 3 promises
to continue conquering hearts around the world.
