The
official website for the Mr. Osomatsu anime has confirmed that the highly
anticipated fourth season will premiere on July 8 at 12:00 a.m. (JST), which
corresponds to 5:00 p.m. (UTC+2) on July 8 in Spain. The return of the zany
group of sextuplets will be packed with humor, music, and new antics.
In addition
to the date announcement, a new promotional video was also revealed, offering a
first look at the new animation, as well as the main theme songs for this
season.
New Songs:
DA PUMP and Atarayo Set the Beat
The opening
theme song will be performed by the group DA PUMP with the song
"Oso.matsu-san no Bomba Sheeh!", an energetic piece referencing the
sextuplets' iconic "Sheeh!" cry.
The song is
a Japanese version of a foreign song, although details about the original have
yet to be revealed. Veteran mcA・T wrote the Japanese lyrics.
Meanwhile,
the ending theme song, "Buddy," will be performed by Hitomi, vocalist
of the band Atarayo, alongside the sextuplets. The song was composed and
arranged by Seiji Kameda, who also wrote the lyrics.
Production
Team Confirmed
The
director will be Yoshinori Odaka, who has participated in previous seasons and
the film Osomatsu-san ~Hipipo-Zoku to Kagayaku Kajitsu~. Shū Matsubara returns
as the series' scriptwriter, while Eiji Abiko will once again be in charge of
the character designs.
A Growing
Phenomenon
Mr.
Osomatsu is a reimagining of Fujio Akatsuka's classic manga Osomatsu-kun,
adapting the story to a modern, adult version of the sextuplets. The original
series depicted the siblings as 10-year-olds, while this remake presents them
as immature and chaotic adults.
Since its
debut in 2015, the franchise has released three anime seasons, several films,
animated shorts, and even a live-action film. Two new films were released
between 2022 and 2023, and a series of shorts based on the Matsuinu, canine
versions of the characters, debuted in 2023.
The
franchise also surprised fans with an exclusive ultra-short anime series to
commemorate the fifth anniversary of the official fan club, consisting of four
episodes released in 2023. With its irreverent humor, unique style, and
unforgettable characters, Mr. Osomatsu promises to win over fans again this
summer.
