The anime adaptation of the light novel Secrets of the Silent Witch has shared an exclusive illustration that highlights the student council of the wizarding academy and its protagonist, Monica Everett, in the midst of an emotional crisis. This new look reinforces the charming and comedic tone of the series, which will premiere in Japan on July 4, while Crunchyroll will include it in its summer 2025 simulcast catalog for everyone.

Monica Everett: A Silent Witch in Great Student Chaos

The image shows the members of the student council posing elegantly around a large decorated desk, while Monica – the famous "silent witch" – appears in front totally overwhelmed. This contrast between the formality of the group and the extreme nervousness of the protagonist gives an idea of the type of humor expected in the series.

From light novel to anime: a magical team behind the project

The original work was written by Matsuri Isora and illustrated by Nanna Fujimi, published under the Kadokawa Books imprint. In English, both the novels and the manga — drawn by Tobi Tani — are distributed by Yen Press.

What is Secrets of the Silent Witch about?

According to the official description of Yen Press, Monica Everett is the only mage in the world capable of using sorcery without enchantments, famous for having defeated a legendary black dragon alone. However, this prodigious young woman is extremely shy: she learned to cast spells silently just to avoid public speaking. Now he has been given a secret mission: to protect the second shadow prince. Will she manage to face not only the dark forces that threaten the prince, but also the social panic that paralyzes her?

With a story that mixes magical action, school comedy and an endearing focus on personal fears, Secrets of the Silent Witch is shaping up to be one of the most promising series of the summer.
