Shogakukan's Sunday Webry platform published last Saturday, July 27, the final chapter of the Dragon Bugyō manga, a work created by the duo formed by Kyoichi Nanatsuki and Mogi Yomogi. The story, which had begun serialization in June 2024, thus concludes its journey with just over a year of publication.

A crossing from Nagasaki to Edo

The plot follows Kiryu Uemon, a young man who is forced to live on the streets after being disowned by his father. However, everything takes an unexpected turn when he receives an official order from the }: he must deliver a mysterious object from Nagasaki to Edo. This mission will not only test his character, but also his destiny.

The background of the author of the work

Kyoichi Nanatsuki is widely recognized for having been the writer of the manga Project ARMS, illustrated by Ryōji Minagawa and published in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine between 1997 and 2002. This work had an important international impact thanks to its anime adaptation in two seasons of 26 episodes each, broadcast between 2001 and 2002. Both series were distributed on DVD by Viz Media and later re-released by Discotek Media in 2017.

A cycle of stories that closes

Prior to Dragon Bugyō, Nanatsuki had worked on Tsukimonogakari alongside Manyō Asahi, also published on Sunday Webry from October 2022 until its end in January this year. Although his time on this platform has been brief, his works have left a mark on Shogakukan's recent catalog.
