In this
year's issue 30 of Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine,
released on June 25, it was confirmed that Kotoyama will
premiere a short series with an unpublished story for the Call of the
Night (Yofukashi no Uta) manga, titled Yofukashi no Uta
-Rakuen-hen- (Call of the Night).
This new
issue will be published in the next issue of the magazine, on July 2,
extending the vampire universe created by Kotoyama.
A story
that explores the night and its mysteries
The
original work, licensed in English by Viz Media, presents Nanakusa,
a vampire, and Ko, a human who wishes to become one of them. The
plot explores the relationship between the two, their nocturnal adventures, and
the challenges they face when someone from Yamori's past threatens that bond.
Trajectory
and future of manga and anime
Kotoyama began serialization of Call
of the Night in August 2019 in the same magazine,
concluding in January 2024. The twentieth and final compilation
volume was released in March 2024.
The
animated adaptation of the series debuted in July 2022 and was
available on HIDIVE with English subtitles, in addition to
having a dubbing that premiered in September of that year. The second
season is scheduled to premiere on July 4.
