They're
back! The new anime NEW PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT is
already part of the summer anime season, and it does so with all
the irreverent style that characterized the original series. This week,
the opening video has been released without credits, allowing you
to appreciate in all its splendor the animation that accompanies its frenetic
introduction.
A
sequence that doesn't stop moving
The opening
theme is accompanied by the theme "Theme of New PANTY &
STOCKING", performed by Teddy Loid & Taku Takahashi,
along with vocals by Ashley & E.V.P. The result is a mix
of rhythm, color and style that fits perfectly with the sassy
and chaotic tone of the series.
A team
that returns to the roots of chaos
The general
direction is in charge of Hiroyuki Imaishi, accompanied by
co-directors Hiromi Wakabayashi and Akira Furukawa,
under the label of the TRIGGER studio. Imaishi and Wakabayashi
are also responsible for the composition of the series. Character
design is done by Shigeto Koyama, Masaru Sakamoto, and SUSHiO,
based on the original designs by Atsushi Nishigori.
Daten
City is once again a battlefield
The story
takes us back to Daten City, a city on the border between Heaven
and Hell, where spirits known as "Ghosts" stalk
humanity. This absurd and provocative universe comes to life again with vibrant
animation and characters as chaotic as they are endearing.
The
original 2010 series is available on anime-focused platforms, while this new
installment is currently on Amazon Prime Video in different
regions of the world. Its premiere was on July 9, which is
equivalent to July 9, 2025 in Spanish time (UTC+2).
