Singer Hashimero has
released the official music video for "Tokihanate!" ("Let
it go!"), the opening track for the second part of
the WITCH WATCH anime. The video, available on her official
YouTube channel, features adorable illustrations created by artist Yoineko247.
An
important debut in his career
Hashimero
began his musical career in 2020 and had already performed the first opening of
season 2 of Urusei Yatsura as part of the MAISONdes project
with Meguru, released in March 2024. Now, "Tokihanate!" marks
his solo debut with Sony Music Labels, following
its digital release on June 24. The physical CD version will hit stores
on August 27 (local time).
Hashimero's
words about the opening
In a
message shared via the official WITCH WATCH website, Hashimero
expressed his excitement about participating in the project, "It's the
first time I've written a theme for an anime and it makes me very happy. I
wanted to capture the atmosphere of WITCH WATCH in my own way
in 'Tokihanate!'. Magic is a mysterious power, technology can be
learned by following steps, but love is unpredictable, and that's why I think
it's similar to magic. Hopefully the time they spend watching the anime will be
a moment to freely express their emotions."
A little
more about WITCH WATCH
The anime
adapts Kenta Shinohara's (SKET Dance, Astra
Lost in Space) fantasy romantic comedy manga and premiered in Japan
on April 6, 2025. The series is available on Crunchyroll for
much of the world, including Europe and Latin America.
The story
follows Morihito Otogi, a high school student with the strength of
an ogre whose life changes when his childhood friend and apprentice
witch, Nico Wakatsuki, moves in with him. Becoming her familiar,
Morihito must protect her from prophesied dangers, initiating days full of
magic, problems and endearing moments.
