The official website of Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits 2, the second season of the anime adaptation of the light novel written by Midori Yuma and illustrated by Laruha, confirmed that the new installment will premiere in Japan on October 1, 2025. The Crunchyroll platform will broadcast the series simultaneously in territories in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the CIS and India.
Nao
Toyama performs the new songs
It was
revealed that actress and singer Nao Toyama, who voices the
protagonist Aoi Tsubaki, will perform both the opening and ending
of this season. The opening theme is titled "Toryanse," while
the closing song will be "Namida no Recipe" ("A
Recipe of Tears").
Both songs
will be part of his ninth CD single, "Toryanse", which
will be available in Japan from November 5, 2025. The artist also
shared a new promotional photograph and announced a special live show that she
will broadcast on her official YouTube channel on August
29 at 2:30 p.m. (Spanish time) to celebrate this release.
Team
behind the production
The
direction of this new installment will be in charge of Joe Yoshizaki (The
Brilliant Healer's New Life in the Shadows), under the production of the
GONZO and Makaria studios. Tomoko Konpari returns
as responsible for the composition of the series, Hidemi Katsura designs
the characters and Takuro Iga is in charge of the soundtrack.
Origin
and trajectory of the work
The
original light novel was published between April 2015 and March 2022, reaching
a total of 12 volumes. Its manga adaptation, illustrated by Waco
Ioka, began in 2016 and has 11 volumes published in Japan,
with distribution in English by VIZ Media.
The anime
debuted in 2018 with a first season of 26 episodes, directed
by Yoshiko Okuda and also animated by the GONZO studio. It is
currently available on Crunchyroll.
A story
between humans and spirits
The plot
follows Aoi, a young woman capable of seeing spirits called ayakashi.
After the death of her grandfather, she is surprised by an ogre who demands
payment of an old family debt. His request is unexpected: marriage to her!
Rejecting such a condition, Aoi decides to pay off the debt by working at
the Tenjin-ya Inn, a place where spirits and humans coexist.
