The story follows Yuu, a diligent and disciplined college student whose perfection creates distance from most of the boys. Her desire to be "number one" in someone's heart is put to the test when she meets Yang, a charming exchange student from China. However, her friendly appearance hides a secret that will completely change their lives.

What begins as a formal agreement between a stubborn young woman and a boy with a docile character evolves into a romance full of tenderness and emotion. The work was released on December 5, 2023 on the Square Enix app, and its first compilation volume went on sale on May 7, 2024.

In a forgotten corner of a huge castle, a girl on the verge of death wakes up with the memories of Chihiro Sagami, a Japanese office worker of current affairs. Determined to survive, she strikes a deal with a kind-hearted chef: food in exchange for work. Her quick hands and natural talent soon make her the beloved "Little Helper" of the castle staff. But behind his enthusiasm and golden eyes lies a mystery that could define the fate of the world.

The manga, illustrated by PenekoR and based on an original story by Kazuhito Minagi, debuted in July 2024 on the Square Enix app. Its second volume was published on March 7, 2025, and the third will arrive on September 5, 2025.

From web novel to manga published

The work is inspired by the light novel written by Kazuhito Minagi, originally published on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō portal between April and June 2021. Square Enix compiled the story in four print volumes, consolidating its move from the web to physical format before making the leap to manga.
