The iconic
Japanese magazine Weekly Shonen Jump continues to celebrate
its collaboration with the Pokémon franchise, and it does so
in spectacular fashion. In its special double edition released today in Japan,
a new batch of exclusive illustrations was revealed that
reunite popular characters from the manga with some of the most beloved
creatures in the Pokémon universe.
The cover
of this issue shows a colorful collage of the current manga
protagonists interacting with various Pokémon. This crossover has been
possible thanks to the talent of several prominent authors, who have
reinterpreted their characters in a context where Pokémon also have a leading
role.
Authors
and Pokémon
Among the
most outstanding illustrations is the work of Yuto Suzuki, author
of Sakamoto Days, which shows a young Taro Sakamoto accompanied by
a friendly Chikorita. For his part, Takeru Hokazono,
creator of Kagurabachi, presents Chihiro Rokuhira alongside
an energetic Tepig. Osamu Nishi, author of Ichi
the Witch, also joins with an image where Ichi poses next
to the imposing Mega Gallade.
These types
of collaborations not only celebrate the legacy of Pokémon, but also connect
different generations of readers and players through art. The illustrations are
part of a campaign that seeks to unite creative worlds and
provide new ways to enjoy both universes.
More
surprises on the way
The
collaboration doesn't end here. It has been confirmed that a second
collection of exclusive stickers will be included in the next edition
of Shonen Jump, which is scheduled to be released on August 18. Without
a doubt, this crossover between Pokémon and Shonen Jump is a visual celebration
that fans of manga and video games will not want to miss.
