The
renowned mangaka Gō Ikeyamada, famous for works such as So
Cute It Hurts!! and Suki Desu Suzuki-kun!!, will
premiere her new manga entitled Makeheroine desu ga Kekkonshimasu ~Kono
Naka ni Watashi no Otto ga Iru!? ~ next Tuesday, August 20 in
the 18th issue of Sho-Comi magazine from Shogakukan.
"Losing"
protagonist in search of love
The story
follows Reo, a young woman who has just gone through a painful
breakup after being betrayed by her best friend, who took her boyfriend away
from her. In desperation, she decides to try her luck on a dating app focused
on marriage, where she surprisingly finds three candidates with 100%
compatibility.
She soon
becomes involved in a love affair that could include her ex-boyfriend, creating
an intrigue full of emotions, doubts and second chances.
A career
marked by youthful romance
Ikeyamada
is known for capturing the essence of teenage love and emotional entanglements
in her works. His most recent manga, Takanashi-ke no Imōto wa Hanayome
ni Naritai!!, debuted in August 2023 in the same magazine
Sho-Comi, while his series Isekai Maō wa Fujoshi o Zettai Nigasanai concluded
in February 2022, with its seventh and final volume published in September of
the same year.
Among his
most popular works are So Cute It Hurts!! (published by Viz
Media in North America) and Suki Desu Suzuki-kun!!, both of
which have been adapted in OVA format and cemented their presence among fans of
romantic shōjo.
Expectations
for the new premiere
With Makeheroine
desu ga Kekkonshimasu, Ikeyamada promises to once again captivate his
audience with a mix of comedy, drama and romantic twists that test the heart of
his protagonist.
The release
is scheduled for August 20, 2025 (local date in Japan), and
