Author Mizu
Morino announced on July 16 through her official
account on X (formerly Twitter) that the manga Tearmoon Empire, an
adaptation of Nozomu Mochitsuki's light novel series, ended
its first part with the publication of chapter 46 and
the release of volume 10, distributed in Japan last Friday.
However, Morino assured that the story does not end here and that the work will
continue with new developments.
The
story of Princess Mia
The plot
follows Mia, the selfish princess of the fallen Tearmoon Empire,
who on the verge of being executed by guillotine mysteriously awakens in her
twelve-year-old self. With this second chance, he decides to confront the
problems that led to the ruin of his kingdom: from a corrupt government to
economic crises and natural disasters. Although hard work is not her thing, Mia
relies on her loyal maid Anne and the talented minister Ludwig,
initiating a process of change that will gradually alter the course of the
entire story. Their real motivation? Avoid feeling the pain of the guillotine
again at all costs.
A
project that continues to expand
Nozomu
Mochitsuki released
the original work in Shōsetsuka ni Narō in August 2018. Later,
TO Books began publishing it in physical format with illustrations
by Gilse in June 2019. Morino's manga version
began in January 2020 and is still ongoing despite the closure
of its first part. Both the novel and the manga are licensed in English
by J-Novel Club.
From
paper to screen
The growing
success of the franchise led to Tearmoon Empire receiving
an anime adaptation in October 2023, further
expanding the popularity of this story that mixes humor, political intrigue,
and second chances.
