The
production of the anime Welcome to the Outcast's Restaurant! announced
on August 11 that renowned actress Yuhko Kaida —
known for her roles as Tsukuyo in Gintama and Marida Cruz
in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn — will play Jean,
the adoptive mother of protagonist Dennis.
A
character with heart and culinary talent
Within the
story, Jean is the head chef of the Blacks Restaurant. After taking
in the orphan Dennis, she raises him as her own son, teaching him both how to
survive and how to hone his skills in the kitchen. Her first appearance is
scheduled for episode 7, which will air in Japan on August
14 at 7:00 p.m. (UTC+2).

A little
about anime
The
television adaptation of the fantasy and gastronomy light novel written
by Yuki Kimikawa and illustrated by Gaou premiered
on July 3, 2025 in Japan. The Crunchyroll platform
streams the series in North America, Central America, South America, Europe,
Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, the CIS, and the Indian subcontinent.
The plot
follows Dennis, a legendary adventurer who, after being expelled from the
strongest group in the world, joins the young fugitive Atelier to open a
restaurant. There, they serve dishes full of flavor to very peculiar customers,
facing their problems with a sharp butcher knife and a wok. A place where the
stomach and heart always come out satisfied.
