On August
29, Comiplex's website published the final chapter of Monty
Paradise -Ijiwaru na Ōsama to Himitsu no Kioku-, known as The
Wicked King and the Secret Memory, the work of mangaka Akihito
Yoshitomi.
The series
will have a total of four compilation volumes, with the last one
scheduled to be released in Japan on October 15, thus closing the
publication of this story.
Mystery
and survival plot
The manga
follows Heita Tsukigami, a 26-year-old salaried worker who, after
falling asleep on the train back home, unexpectedly wakes up in a landfill.
There he meets a girl named Ema, who drags him into a surprising
situation. In a strange world ruled by an evil king, Heita must
find her role if she is to survive.
A little
of the author's career
Akihito
Yoshitomi launched
this manga in April 2023 within the Comiplex digital
platform, with its first volume published in October of the same year. The
author, renowned for his versatility, has completed several works in recent
years, including Kyō kara Mirai in February 2023, Meikyū
Biyori in December 2022, and 24-ku no Hanako-san in
April 2022.
Yoshitomi
is also remembered for Eat-Man, originally serialized between 1996
and 2002, and its sequel Eat-Man The Main Dish, published from 2014
to 2019. Eat-Man received anime adaptations in 1997 and 1998,
cementing the author as an influential figure in science fiction manga. In
addition, he participated in projects such as Ray, Blue
Drop and the manga adaptation of the crossover Cyborg 009 Vs.
Devilman.
