The October
issue of Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine published on Thursday
the final chapter of Witches Can't Be Collared (Majo
ni Kubiwa wa Tsukerarenai), an adaptation of Yuri Yumemi's work
with illustrations by Makuei. The work, which debuted in the same
magazine in October 2024, says goodbye after a year of
serialization.
In closing,
it has been confirmed that the second and final compilation volume will
go on sale in Japan on October 3, thus completing the physical
edition of the manga.
From the
world of light novels to manga
The
original project began as a series of light novels, written by
Yumemi and illustrated by Wata, the first volume of which debuted
in February 2024. So far, the saga has three volumes
published, the most recent released on June 10 in Japan.
The
publisher Yen Press acquired the English license, expanding
the international reach of this story.
An
interesting plot of crime and magic
The story
takes place in an empire where the nobility seeks to monopolize magic,
causing an increase in crime. To deal with this chaos, a body is established in
charge of investigating magical crimes. The protagonist, Rogue, is
a detective transferred to the sixth division due to intrigues of his
superior, Velladonna. There she must work alongside a powerful
witch known as the Puppeteer, whose reputation places her as a
threat to the empire.
In this
world, witches are chained with restrictive necklaces that
limit their abilities. However, his new partner is not afraid to manipulate
Rogue at will, turning their relationship into a dangerous dynamic full of
intrigue.
