A few days
before the broadcast of episode 0, scheduled for September
25 in Japan (early morning of September 26 in Spain), the
original anime Dusk Beyond the End of the World from the P.A.WORKS studio
confirmed four new members in its cast. Among them are Miyuki Sawashiro as Yoiyami, Tomori
Kusunoki as Hakubo, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Oboro,
and Yohei Azakami as Yokurata. Previously, it had
been confirmed that Yui Ishikawa and Shuichiro Umeda will
lead the story playing Yugure and Akira,
respectively.
A
top-notch creative team
The series
is directed by Naokatsu Tsuda (Tokyo 24th Ward), who
also serves as the composer of the work. The original character designs
by Midori Tayama (Girl Crush) have been adapted for
animation by Yoshiko Saito (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless
Reincarnation), while the soundtrack is by Masahiro Tokuda (DECA-DENCE). Credit
for the original concept belongs to the Project FT group.
Love
story in a changing world
The HIDIVE platform
will broadcast the anime simultaneously with Japan and has shared a description
of its plot. The story is set in a society that transitions from a traditional
model to a new order, driven by technological advances, artificial intelligence
and social issues such as gender, race and ethics.
In this
context, the concept of love is represented in multiple forms:
not only between people, but also between humans and robots. The
narrative will show the beauty of these bonds in a poignant, cruel and even
comical way. The big question posed by the play is: can love survive when a
robot surpasses its human companion in life?
