The October
issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Young Ace magazine published on
Thursday the final chapter of Busu ni Hanataba o.
-Bloom- (known in English as April Showers Bring May Flowers:
Bloom), the special edition of Roku Sakura's popular
manga.
Serialization
of this special edition began on March 4, and although it initially
ended in its fifth chapter on July 4, it received additional
chapters starting on August 4. That same month, volume 13 of the
compilation was also published, which included the new episodes.
7-year
journey
The
original play, Busu ni Hanataba o, debuted at the Monthly
Young Ace in April 2016 and concluded in September
2022. Kadokawa subsequently released the 12th and final volume in November
2022, thus closing its main publication.
A
different kind of shoujo
The manga,
which is also distributed in English by Yen Press, presents the
story of Hana Tabata, a high school student with low self-esteem
who considers herself unattractive and lives convinced that she could never be
the protagonist of a shoujo manga. However, her routine changes when one day
she is surprised by her handsome classmate Yousuke Ueno while
placing flowers in the classroom. Her kind words awaken feelings in Hana that
gradually transform her life and her way of seeing the world.
