Crunchyroll will launch its own app to read mangas

Crunchyroll has confirmed the launch of Crunchyroll Manga, an app dedicated exclusively to digital manga reading. The service will debut on October 9, 2025 in the US and Canada, although for now there has been no mention of availability in other regions.

The application will work independently of the standard Crunchyroll platform and, in addition, it is distinguished by not including ads of any kind. This separation appears to be related to the closure of the company's previous manga service, which was permanently withdrawn in recent months.

A catalogue with great publishers and popular titles

One of the most striking points is that Crunchyroll Manga will be licensed by ShueishaViz MediaSquare EnixYen Press, and other renowned publishers. Among the confirmed titles are:

  • One Piece
  • Jujutsu Kaisen
  • Daemons of the Shadow Realm
  • My Dress-Up Darling
  • Lycoris Recoil
  • Sasaki and Miyano
  • Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy
  • Maiden of the Dragon: Falling for the Demon's Lies

With this initial lineup, Crunchyroll is looking to compete directly with platforms like Shueisha's Manga Plus or Kodansha's K Manga, offering a broader and more diverse library.

Price and subscription model

The cost of Crunchyroll Manga will depend on the level of Crunchyroll subscription each user has:

  • With Ultimate Fan, the app will be completely free.
  • With Fan, it will cost $4.
  • With Mega Fan, it will cost $3.50.

At the moment it has not been detailed what the price will be for those who do not have any Crunchyroll subscription.
