Scum of
the Brave (Yūsha
no Kuzu), the irreverent work by Rocket Shokai and Nakashima723,
confirmed that its anime adaptation will be released in January 2026.
The announcement was accompanied by a first teaser and the reveal of the main
team behind the production.
An
isekai that breaks the rules
The
original manga has gained a solid fan base thanks to its sarcastic portrayal of
so-called "heroes." Instead of idealized characters, it shows
individuals full of flaws, dragged along by their weaknesses and
contradictions. With the jump to animation, it is expected to retain that
rawness and black humor that made it stand out.
Production
team confirmed
The series
will be directed by Shinji Ushiro under the OLM studio.
The script and supervision will fall to Yoichi Kato, while Rika
Murakami will be in charge of character design. The music will be
provided by Kenichiro Suehiro, a composer recognized for his
ability to reinforce tense and emotional atmospheres.
Expectations
for January 2026
With a
release scheduled for the winter 2026 season, Scum of the Brave promises
to be one of the most talked about titles due to its different proposal in a
market saturated with classic isekai. The first trailer already shows that the
animation will bet on a raw and direct tone, in tune with the spirit of the
manga.
