A phenomenon that continues to grow

GATE: Jieitai Kano Chi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri was born as a series of novels by Takumi Yanai, with illustrations by Daisuke Izuka and Kurojishi. Originally published online between 2006 and 2009, it was picked up by AlphaPolis in 2010. By June 2024, the work exceeded 7.3 million copies in circulation, including digital editions.

From novels to anime

The manga illustrated by Satoru Sao began in 2011 and gave way to several spin-offs in 2015. The saga was subsequently adapted into anime in 2015 and 2016, cementing GATE as one of the most talked-about military fantasy stories of the decade.
