A new
fantasy adventure is getting ready to hit the small screen. Tōwa's light
novel series The World's Strongest Rearguard - Labyrinth Country's
Novice Seeker, illustrated by Kazabana, confirmed its
television anime adaptation with the opening of an official website that has
already revealed a visual teaser for the project.
From web
novel to expanding franchise
The story
debuted in Shōsetsuka ni Narō in April 2017, and after gaining
popularity, Kadokawa published the first printed volume in
November of that same year. Currently, the work has eight volumes and the ninth
is scheduled to be published this week.
Manga
adaptation
The success
also led to the release of a manga version drawn by Rikizo on
Kadokawa's Comic Walker platform in March 2018. The series
compiled its first volume in September of that year and, as of February 2025,
it has already published nine volumes.
