The Revenge of the Support Wizard will begin soon on TV. The production company Shochiku announced this Friday that the light novels Tsuiho Sareta Cheat Fuyo Majutsushi wa Kimamana Second Life or Oka Suru will have an anime adaptation of The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage (known for short as Chi-Fuyo). The big surprise of the announcement is that the animation will be carried out by the prestigious studio P.A. Works.

Along with the news, the first visual of the project was revealed, although at the moment no details have been given about the voice cast, the directing team or the release date.

The original author, Asa Rokushima, celebrated the news with a message for fans: "I'm absolutely thrilled that Chi-Fuyo has an anime adaptation... I always look forward to each new chapter of the manga, and I can't wait to see Rein and the others come to life on screen."

To commemorate the announcement, both the novels' illustrator, Kisui, and the manga adaptation's artist, Gyomuyomochi, published special celebratory illustrations.

About the work

The story follows Rein, an "Enchanter" who strengthens the team with his magic. Suddenly, he is expelled from his guild under the excuse that the entire team has already been upgraded enough. Outraged by the absurd treatment, Rein decides to remove the massive amount of mana he had poured into the guild's weapons and armor.

Channeling that power into a simple random copper sword transforms it into a cheat-level weapon with 10,000 buffs. With no combat experience but armed with magic capable of creating super-powerful equipment, Rein sets out to enjoy a new life as a carefree adventurer.

Rokushima began the series on the Shosetsuka ni Naro site in January 2021, and Kodansha has been publishing the print volumes since January 2022.
