The trip to Hawaii marks the next step in this tangled romantic comedy. It has been officially confirmed that the fifth season of the anime adaptation of Rent-A-Girlfriend (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) will begin its early broadcast on April 8 through the DMM TV service in Japan, followed by its television premiere on April 10 on the Animeism programming block.

The update came with a new trailer and a promotional image. The video allows you to listen to a preview of the opening entitled "Non Scenario Etude", a musical theme performed, written and composed by voice actress Sora Amamiya. On the other hand, the rock band NAKIGOTO will be in charge of performing the ending of the series, which will be called "204-goshitsu".

Rent-A-Girlfriend Details

This fifth season works structurally as the second half of the fourth installment, which aired between July and September of last year in split-cour format. The plot will continue directly to adapt the popular Hawaiian arc from the original manga.

Production Equipment

The creative core responsible for the previous adaptations is maintained for this new stage of the story:

  • Kazuomi Koga returns to take over the general direction of the project.
  • TMS Entertainment continues to be in charge of animation production, maintaining the visual continuity of the franchise.

About the franchise

The main story follows Kazuya Kinoshita, a university student who, after being abandoned by his girlfriend after a month of relationship, decides to hire a girlfriend for rent out of pure frustration. This is how he meets Chizuru Mizuhara, a beautiful and extremely professional young woman who turns a simple business transaction into a complex web of lies and awkward situations among her families and friends.

The original work, written and illustrated by mangaka Reiji Miyajima, began serialization in the pages of Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine in July 2017. Thanks to its profitability, the franchise has inspired multiple animated seasons since the summer of 2020 and even a live-action series adaptation released in 2022.
