About the work
The plot
follows Sota Oshio, an ordinary student who works part-time in his
family's cafeteria. His school routine intersects with that of Koharu
Sato, the most beautiful girl in his class, who is nicknamed "cold
Sato-san" due to her curt answers and unfriendly attitude towards others.
However, Sota discovers that this façade is only the result of extreme shyness
and a total inexperience to interact socially. As they share time together, the
distance between them begins to shorten, allowing their feelings to grow
naturally.
The original work, written by Kazami Sawatari and illustrated by Aitiki, began publication under the Gagaga Bunko imprint of the Shogakukan publishing house in 2019, recently launching its twelfth volume in the Japanese market. The franchise inspired a manga adaptation illustrated by Kaya Tetsuyama, which began serialization in May 2020 and has collected a total of nine volumes in print to date.
