A duchess
who knows more about punches than manners arrives at the anime with the entire
cast ready. The official website of the animated adaptation based on the light
novels Always a Catch! (known in Japanese as Nigashita
Sakana wa Ōkikatta ga Tsuriageta Sakana ga Ōkisugita Ken) revealed a second
main promotional video on Tuesday. The production committee took advantage of
the update to confirm that the series will officially premiere on television
on April 1.
The new
trailer served to present a preview of the ending theme titled "DEAD OR
LOVE", which will be performed by singer-songwriter Yoshino (recognized
for her participation in Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi).
Previously, it had been confirmed that the opening theme will
be called "Chikai wa Kyun to." and will be a collaboration of HoneyWorks
feat. Airi Suzuki.

The
animation work is carried out by the TROYCA studio. The
director's chair is occupied by Akira Oguro (who worked
on Giant Beasts of Ars and Namu Amida Butsu! -Rendai

What is
the story about?
This wacky
romantic comedy follows Maria, the daughter of a duke who grew up
convinced that she would one day inherit her father's duchy. Because of this,
he devoted his entire youth to honing his martial arts skills, leaving aside
any thoughts about marriage. However, the sudden birth of a younger brother
completely strips her of her role as heiress.
Realizing
that she now needs to get married, she discovers that she has arrived a little
late to the game of getting suitors. After traveling to a neighboring country
to study and look for a husband, she is perplexed when the crown prince
publicly declares that his engagement to her is annulled, mistaking her for
another girl. Once the misunderstanding is cleared up, the young woman ends up
knocking out a whole gang of thieves in front of him, revealing that the prince
might have a soft spot for ladies capable of kicking ass.
