Uma Musume: Fans Can Now Donate to Celebrate Real Horses' Birthdays

One of the most fascinating features of Uma Musume's immense Pretty Derby franchise is the deep respect that exists between the players and the animals that inspired their favorite characters. We constantly see the community translate their love for horse girls into the real world, and the famous Japanese retirement ranch Versailles Farm has just opened a new door to channel that generosity. Taking advantage of the fact that several equine legends are celebrating another year of life, the facility inaugurated a birthday donation program that will allow fans to directly sponsor these retired athletes.

A direct gift to the legends of the racecourse

The mechanics of this program are quite accessible and will be open until May 31. Those interested can make a one-time contribution of three thousand yen, which is approximately nineteen dollars, by choosing the specific animal they wish to support. Among this month's celebrants are historical names that fans of the game will immediately identify, such as twenty-seven-year veteran Tanino Gimlet, as well as Rose Kingdom, Jono Bohemian and Hiruno d'Amour. The money raised will not remain in a symbolic fund, but will be used entirely for the daily care of the animals, covering essential expenses such as special food, maintenance of their stables and continuous medical care.

The venue administrators explained that this is an excellent alternative for those who cannot commit to giving financial support on a constant basis, but who want to make a genuine difference in the lives of these champions. As a token of appreciation for their noble contribution, each donor will receive an exclusive wallpaper for mobile phones with the photograph of the horse they decided to sponsor, creating a beautiful digital memory of this special bond.

A community united for animal welfare

This isn't the first time the group of players has demonstrated their immense power of organizing for charitable causes. The community's record of good deeds is truly admirable. Just earlier this year, fans sold out a few pieces of wood from the fences that Tanino Gimlet himself often smashes with his kicks, and even managed to raise more than $400,000 to build a fourth barn that drastically improved living conditions on the ranch. In the past, they also sent tons of fresh grass to feed Haru Urara and restored Mejiro Ardan's tomb on Chinese territory.

Knowing that this model of sporadic donations helps to sustain the expensive care that a horse requires in its old age
