Hunting demonic specters all over Japan

from time to time. The publisher Shueisha confirmed through the official
channels of Jump SQ magazine that the popular horror manga Dark
Gathering, created by Kenichi Kondo, will not publish a new
chapter in the September issue that goes on sale this Tuesday, taking a
temporary break of one month.
The editorial department apologized to readers
who were eagerly awaiting the continuation of the story, asking for their
continued support as the work resumes its usual rhythm. If there are no
last-minute changes, the series will be back in the magazine's October issue,
scheduled to hit shelves on September 4. This brief pause comes
just after the release of the twentieth compilation volume on July 3,
demonstrating the enormous consistency that the publication has maintained
since its debut in March 2019.
For those who don't know this chilling installment,
the plot follows Keitaro Gentoga, a university student with a natural magnet to
attract malevolent spirits who tries to rebuild his life away from the occult.
However, everything gets out of control when he starts working as a tutor for
Yayoi Hozuki, a child prodigy obsessed with catching Japan's most dangerous
ghosts in the hope of finding the entity that took her mother's soul. The great
popularity of this story earned it an animated adaptation in
2023 and the recent confirmation in October 2025 of a second season that will
bring back the entire production team and voice cast.
