Getting stuck in a virtual reality video game
is already a known trope, but being reincarnated as the avatar of an attractive
vampire girl gives a rather funny twist to the matter. To the joy of the
fantasy-loving community, the production committee just canonized the
dream of many by officially confirming that the light novels Destiny
Unchain Online (originally titled Destiny Unchain Online: How
I Became the Crimson Devil) will have its own animated adaptation.
To celebrate the news in style, the illustrator of the work published a special
promotional image on his social networks.
A login error that went too well
The plot puts us in the shoes of Mitsuki Kou,
an extremely skilled elite player who is feared online under the nickname
"Crim the Headhunter". Just before entering high school, his father —
who happens to be a video game developer — asks him to try a new full-immersion
MMORPG. However, upon logging in, Kou discovers that not only did he get
trapped in the body of a beautiful pure-blood vampire waifu, but he
also turned up in some mysterious ruins far away from the initial city and
without the damn option to disconnect. Far from panicking, the protagonist
decides to make the most of the broken abilities of his new race to enjoy the
game before the start of classes, forming a powerful guild that will lead him
to be known worldwide as the Crimson Demon.
The creator celebrates the leap to television
The work, written by resn and
with art by Yachimoto, managed to consolidate a solid fan base
thanks to its successful manga adaptation released in 2022. Before the reveal
of the anime, the original author shared an emotional message expressing his immense
gratitude to the illustrator, the work team and the readers who have supported
the franchise since day one, hoping that this project will
serve to let many more people know about Crim's crazy adventure.
