Meet the Smash Core computers, which include your favorite anime voices

Smash Core might not be a name that computer fanatics often think about, but it has gradually made a name for itself as a computer maker. The Tokyo-based company offers PCs and electronic tablets that include recorded voices of popular anime seiyuus.

The user can even make special requests for recordings that they would like to hear from a Smash Core tool known as Type: You. Right now, buyers can choose from four options:
  • Kaito Ishikawa (Tobio Kageyama in Haikyuu !!, Genos in One Punch Man).
  • Saki Ono (Yuka Endo in Beatless).
  • Sho Hayami (Sosuke Aizen in Bleach, Maximilian Jenius in Macross).
  • Yukihiro Nozuyama (Says Arisugawa in Hypnosis Mic, Izuru Shidu Shido in Vanguard).

In addition to 60 pre-recorded voices for various system functions, each device features two lines chosen by the buyer and recorded by the artist exclusively for delivery. Each line includes the name of the buyer (or his nickname), and some of the suggestions from Smash Core are:
  • "Yoo-hoo, [name]. It seems you have received an email. I wonder whose it will be. "
  • “[Name] -chan, you received an email! Hey, hey, who's sending it? "
  • "The mail has arrived, [name]. I bet that's great news! "

However, while the two lines chosen are entirely up to the buyer, there are some things that are out of the question. First, you cannot make actors say phrases from an anime because of copyright, nor can you ask them to say facts related to themselves (“I am Kaito Ishikawa, and I only belong to [name]”). Also, no lines can be created that incite a sexual atmosphere, and Smash Core specifies that the stereotypical phrase of a wife, “What would you like first? A bathroom? Dinner? ... Or me? "Is a resounding no. The company specifies that the sound of a kiss from the actor cannot be added either.

If you're still interested, requests can be made online for PCs and tablets for Ishikawa (link), Ono (link), and Hayami and Nozuyama (link), with prices hovering between 117,700 and 319,000 yen (between 1,100 and $ 2,980), depending on the models requested.
