One Piece could present more delays in its sleeve according to its author

Through a statement, it was revealed that the One Piece manga, written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, could present more delays in its publication due to the state of emergency Japan is going through in measure against the COVID-19 pandemic.


The statement was written by the same author on Tuesday and in it, emphasizes that "if these delays are to occur, they will be to safeguard the integrity of all his collaborators who work for the publication of the series."

In addition, he mentioned that "everything is already being prepared for the return of the animated series to Japanese television despite the current situation."

Finally, he informed all his followers that in order for them to pass a less stressful confinement, they will be able to enjoy the first 61 volumes of the manga for free through the Jump + app (Only for users in Japan).


One Piece is a manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda and published in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine of the Shueisha publisher since July 1997. The franchise has inspired multiple adaptations to other media, the main one being the anime that is broadcast. since October 1999 and whose production has been in charge of Toei Animation studios since then.

The most recent feature film in the franchise premiered in August 2019 and is titled One Piece: Stampede. This was the fourteenth movie in the franchise and commemorated the anime's twentieth anniversary.

The series is considered one of the main exponents of manga in Japan, recognized for its history, art, characterization and sense of humor. Multiple compilation volumes of the manga have broken records of printing and distribution, which has contributed to the accumulated amount to date.
