The first promotional video for the project was published on the official Twitter account for the anime adaptation of the Sega smartphone role-playing game, Hortensia Saga. The video reveals that the series will premiere in January 2021.

For his part, Sega released the game for iOS and Android devices on April 22, 2015. Players take on the role of a young feudal lord who discovers the secrets of the Hydrangea Kingdom through battles and encounters.
Additionally, Pon Jea and Seiji are in charge of publishing a manga adaptation of the game, which has been serialized in Monthly Comic Alive magazine by Kadokawa publishing house since March 27.
