The manga subscription app Mangamo announced that it will publish a manga adaptation of the Japan Sinks: 2020 anime, which in turn is adapting novels written by Sakyo Komatsu.
This will be the first completely original manga of the application, and it will be published weekly during the month of July, and bi-weekly in the following months. The series will be written and illustrated by Kenichi Watanabe.
On the other hand, the series will premiere on July 9 through Netflix and will have a total of ten episodes. Sakyo Komatsu first published the novels in 1973, after nine years of writing. The novels have already been adapted into a 1973 live-action film directed by Shiro Moritani, a 1975 television series, and a 2006 remake directed by Shinji Higuchi.
