The author of the manga Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na !, Sumito Oowara, published a statement via Twitter after his followers discovered that the author was following multiple Pixiv accounts dedicated to the publication of explicit illustrations of lolis. The art in question of these beads features semi-realistic 3D CG art of girls in sexual situations, as well as other 2D illustrations of erotic art in anime style.
Last Sunday, Sumito Oowara wrote: “I followed these 3D artists whose work I thought was good reference material without knowing that it was illicit material, or at least it is now that foreign people want to consider it. That is what I have to say. It's ridiculous. I guess semi-realistic 3D content is not cataloged like 2D… I don't get it. I don't usually talk about these issues but this is serious. I know that others in such situations often say things like "How do I explain it?" But all I can say is "I don't get it." Anyway, I don't care. Honestly, people love to assume things like "If you follow this erotic artist online, then you are just like him!" So that's all I have to say about it. "資料にいいと思って3D作家を隠すこともなくフォローしてたら海外からペドフィリア認定されたよ俺。報告は以上です。すげえモヤってる。マジで意味がわからん・・・まあ感想は「そうなんですか」です。フォトリアリスティックは何か2Dとも扱いが違うらしいよ。— 大童 澄瞳 オオワラ・スミト【公式】 (@dennou319) July 27, 2020
However, despite its publication, the author stopped following the accounts indicated in Pixiv. For his part, Owara began publishing the manga in Shogakukan publisher's Monthly Big Comic Spirits magazine in July 2016, and the publisher published the fifth compilation volume on January 30. The work inspired a twelve episode anime adaptation produced by Science SARU studios, under the direction of Masaaki Yuasa and scripts written by himself in conjunction with Yuuichirou Kido, released in January 2020.
