The Haikyuu manga !! will have a new play in the fall

In the 32nd edition of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine of the Shueisha publishing house, it was announced that the work “Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu !!” based on the manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate, Haikyuu !!, will have a series of presentations this fall. The work will be titled "Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu !!: The Dumpster Battle".


For this work, Worry Kinoshita is again in charge of directing and writing the scripts, while Shunsuke Wada is in charge of composing the soundtrack.

The previous work titled "Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu !!: Saikyou no Chousensha" was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which prevented scheduled performances in Hyogo, Miyagi, Fukuoka, Osaka and Tokyo in March.

For its part, Furudate has published the manga in the Shueisha publisher Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since February 2012. The publisher published the forty-third compilation volume on May 13, and will publish the forty-fourth on August 4.

Synopsis of Haikyuu !!

Shouyou Hinata started playing volleyball after seeing the "little giants" who played this sport when they were in primary school. She suffers a crushing defeat in her first and last high school tournament at the hands of her rival Tobio Kageyama. So Hinata joins the Karasuno High School volleyball team, promising revenge against Kageyama. However, Kageyama is also on Kurasuno's team. The former rivals form a legendary combo with Hinata's mobility and Kageyama's precise ball handling. Together, they face off in local tournaments and commit to meeting Kurasuno's rival school in nationals.
