In this year's 32nd issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine it was announced that a one-shot chapter of the manga written and illustrated by Osamu Akimoto, Kochikame will be included in the combined issue numbers 33-34 of the magazine. The edition will be published on July 20.
For his part, Akimoto began publishing the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1976, and finished it in September 2016 after 40 years of serialization. In fact, this manga is the magazine's most extensive work to date.
The work exceeded 150 million copies in circulation at the time in June 2016, when its one hundred ninety-ninth compilation volume was released. The twelfth compilation volume was published in September 2016.
The work inspired a 373-episode anime adaptation produced by Gallop Studios, under the direction of Tetsuo Yasumi and others, released in June 1996.
Synopsis of Kochikame
The story centers on Ryoutsu who, being a very underpaid police officer, is always planning some tricks to earn quick money. However, in the end always his plans (however ridiculous they may be) end in failure and leading him to trouble with his boss.
