The developer of installments like Metal Gear and Death Stranding, Hideo Kojima, has been sharing reflections on a daily basis about his work and life through the official Twitter account of Kojima Productions.
The first of the "Kojima Reflections" refers to the actors and creators that Kojima currently follows: "There are many actors that I follow. Luca Marinelli recently caught my attention after watching "The Old Guard" and "Martin Eden". He played a magnificent villain role in "The Call Me Jeeg Robot," but I think he will soon get over that and his popularity will increase. I also think that wearing a bandana would be the living image of Solid Snake. Regarding the creators, I would say the creator Olafur Eliasson. I have seen his projects on films and documentaries, but still have not been able to "experience" his work live. His art is something essential that must be experienced. In fact, his exhibition "Olafur Eliasson: Sometimes the river is the bridge" is being held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo, and I am very interested in going. "
In the second, he answered why in his games the player is allowed to take baths and showers, as well as other activities: “I always think of these aspects in parallel with other matters, such as series plots, common scenes or things that would make people laugh. to the player. But I think it is something that is only possible through video games, compared to something like movies or TV shows that show that eating, sleeping or even going to excrete are non-essential things. The time limits make all the scenes have to be essential in the progress, so these productions do not focus on the daily life of their actors. Finally, the third explored several jobs Kojima was involved in before the video game industry: “My first part-time job was shooting weddings, which I started doing after graduating from high school. I worked on it until I graduated from college, every weekend and holiday for four years. I had to wear a suit every time, which gave me an idea of what it would be like to be an office worker. Almost at the end of that job, I had already become an experienced member, and I was also training newbies in the different trades of the trade. Kojima designed and wrote the Metal Gear video game for Konami in 1987. The game helped establish the genre of "espionage" in video games and was also the rise of the Metal Gear franchise. Kojima left Konami in December 2015 and founded Kojima Productions. The Death Stranding video game developed by his company was released for the PlayStation 4 console in November 2019, and for PC on July 14."Hideo's Musings"— KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS (Eng) (@KojiPro2015_EN) July 30, 2020
