😖😖Uzumaki: Spiral into Horror surprises with a spectacular advance

A new promotional video for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Junji Ito , Uzumaki: Spiral into Horror , was revealed during the San Diego Comic-Con International . The video shows the animation style selected for production at Drive Studios, but does not indicate a scheduled release date for this series .

It should be noted that the series was scheduled to premiere in October 2022, but was announced to be delayed "indefinitely" due to the production team needing more time to replicate the quality of the manga's intricate designs and detailed line work. Although it is estimated that the premiere is scheduled for this year, everything depends on the production team "feeling satisfied with the final product."

In fact, the series was scheduled to premiere in 2020, and in July of that year it was announced that it would be pushed back to 2021, followed by a delay announced in June 2021. The four-episode series is scheduled to air on the Toonami programming block before its official premiere in Japan . For its part, the manga has previously inspired a live-action film adaptation starring Eriko Hatsune and Fan Fhi , released in 2000.

Synopsis of Uzumaki

In the village of Kurouzu-cho, Kirie Goshima lives a relatively normal life with her family. However, one day when she was walking to the station to meet her boyfriend, Shuuichi Saito, she notices that her father is staring at a snail shell in an alley. Without giving it much thought, she Kirie tells Shuuichi about the situation, to which he replies that her father has also been acting very strange.  Shuuichi also reveals his desire to escape the village with Kirie, claiming that people have become obsessed with spirals. But her father's obsession soon turns deadly, beginning a chain of horrifying and inexplicable events.
